Nature's Sanctuary in Blue
One day walking through the woods the sunlight streaming through the tall Eastern pine trees created a structure that stopped me in my tracks. I felt enveloped by the arches of light and felt I was in a sacred place. Monet's Rouen Cathedral paintings came to mind. Yes, I was in a sacred place: a protected place and a place of peace. Nature's Sanctuary in Blue is the first in this series that uses the colors and composition of Monet's cathedral paintings. My goal is to connect my viewers with the peace that nature has to offer, act as a reminder to connect with it and encourage respect for the environment.
